For USTDA, ECODIT completed a Definitional Mission for waste and water projects in China. Projects were located in different locations in China, including the city of Beijing, and the provinces of Hebei, Fujian, and Henan. ECODIT determined the potential risk of these projects, their technical, economic, and financial feasibility, and the potential for export of US equipment and services for the implementation of projects.ECODIT recommended that USTDA grant $1.3 million to help the Beijing Municipal Administration Commission (BMAC) study the feasibility of five bioconversion/composting projects in various districts of Beijing in preparation for the 2008 Olympics,conduct a feasibility study of urban water supply systems in seven large cities of Hebei Province,conduct a feasibility study of two water and wastewater treatment facilities owned by Beijing Capital (BC),and conduct a feasibility study of four sludge management facilities owned by Beijing Drainage (BD).
